The USTA Eastern Long Island Region is seeking volunteers for two exciting upcoming events: The Merrick Street Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8 and The Bellmore Street Fair on Saturday, Sept. 22. USTA Eastern Long Island will have a strong presence at both fairs again this year.

Last year, in the Region’s inaugural outing, Long Island volunteers introduced 10 & Under tennis to hundreds of kids at these fairs. Fair attendees come from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and many families are looking for clubs and facilities in their neighborhoods at which their kids can get started learning tennis or hone their skills. The Region needs tennis players of all skill levels to feed foam balls and interact with the kids (two-hour commitments please from 10:00 a.m.-noon and from noon-2:00 p.m. or from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on each day). High school tennis players are encouraged to help out as well. All student participants will receive a community service letter for school.

Please contact Melanie Rubin by e-mail with any questions and to sign up to volunteer at mrsrubinsclass@aol.com or e-mail ustaonlongisland@gmail.com.
