Tips From The Pro: Getting To Your Forehand

Most people prefer their forehand to their backhand. Try this idea to get more balls hit to your stronger shot.

When you are at the baseline, adjust your recovery position so it encourages your opponent to hit it towards your forehand side. If you are right handed, stand several steps to the left (to the right if you are a lefty) of your normal position (middle of the court in singles and middle of your side of the court if you are playing doubles).

Be ready to move towards your forehand and try to recover back close to where you started. This will make it seem like there is open court towards your forehand side and likely result in many more shots hit by your opponent going in that direction.

Don't forget to recover quickly-this strategy will not work if you don't do a good job moving your feet!
