Led by their top two singles players Hannah Camhi and Ashley Sandler, the Syosset Girls High School Tennis team improved their record to 10-1 on the 2010 season and are now a half-game ahead of Garden City High School in their battle for the Nassau County Conference I regular season championship.

Camhi, who finished second in the Nassau County Individual Championships over the weekend, and Sandler, who finished fourth, both were victorious in straight sets.

Sandler defeated Jericho's Shanice Arthur in Monday afternoon action. Earlier in the season Sandler and Arthur played a match that took three-plus hours to complete and was decided in a third set tie-break, but on this day, Ashley was able to prevail in two sets.

The Syosset doubles teams performed well, led by Jen Glukhman & Alexa Sternschein, who defeated Jericho's duo of Ali Flum & Julie Pliskin, 6-4, 6-1 in second doubles.

Syosset will be at home again today (Tuesday, Oct. 19th) as they take on Roslyn. Earlier this season, Syosset defeated Roslyn 4-3 in a tightly contested match-up.
