Stop World Hunger, Inc. has announced its schedule of tennis events for the 2017 season. This year marks the 37th year of Stop World Hunger’s charity events for famine relief. All funds are forwarded to Catholic Relief Services to assist them in their efforts to feed hungry children. Assistance is provided “where the need is greatest”, regardless of race, religion and/or nationality.

First up for 2017 is the Stop World Hunger Spring Tennis Party on March 25 at Carefree Racquet Club in North Merrick. The tennis party runs from 8:00 p.m.-Midnight, and players are guaranteed two hours of playing time and plenty of refreshments. The cost is $15 for players and $7.50 for non-players.

The annual Stop World Hunger Spring Tennis Tournament will run from April 1 through June 11. The divisions are based on the registrants’ abilities: Intermediate (3.0-3.5), Advanced Intermediate (3.5-4.0), and Advanced  (4.0-4.5+). The matches are to be played on the players schedule, at mutually convenient times and sites for all players. The awards for the tournament will be presented on June 24.

The registration deadline is Saturday, March 25.

More events for 2017 will be announced as the year goes on. To register for any event or for more information, contact Matt Swit at (631) 789-3618.
