The Australian Open announced on Friday that all 507 of the tournament’s players and staff who were staying at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where a worker contracted COVID-19 earlier in the week, had been cleared of the virus and were eligible to participate in next week’s major tournament.

“Everyone that tested, tested negative,” said Tournament Director Craig Tiley. “So that’s a really good outcome not only for the community but also for the playing group.”

On Wednesday, a worker at the hotel had tested positive which led health officials to testing and quarantining the 160 players staying at the hotel as well as coaches and tournament officials.

The 2021 Australian Open is set to begin on Monday, February 8.
