Coach Ed Krass’ 33rd Annual College Tennis Exposure Camp will kick off its summer in the Northeast with camps in Long Island, New Jersey and Massachusetts. With the NCAA ban lifted on in-person recruiting, the coaching staff will be represented by Division I, II and III coaches.
“Exposure to college coaches is needed perhaps more than ever,” Coach Ed Krass said.
“The bans and restrictions implemented due to the coronavirus has made it difficult for prospective student- athletes to be recruited in person,” added Krass, the former Harvard University tennis coach and founder of the College Tennis Academy. “Our two-day College Tennis Exposure Camps allow players and head college coaches to train and interact together on court, unlike any college showcase.”
Players ages 14-18 will receive instruction and training from head college coaches from across the U.S., representing NCAA Division I, II and III sports.
Online registrations are being accepted at collegetennis.com for the June 5-6 camp at the Long Island Health & Racquet Club in East Setauket, NY, the July 23-24 camp at the Mercer County Park Tennis Facility in West Windsor, NJ and the August 21-22 camp at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. Instructional drills and matchplay competition will be conducted in the same style and intensity as a college team practice. Players will have the opportunity to sample various coaching styles and to receive on-court coaching during their matchplay competitions. Under the skillful eyes of top college coaches, players showcase their singles, doubles and one-on-one doubles skills and receive specific feedback on their game. The camps will comply with CDC and local health guidelines in order to protect all players, parents and coaches.
“We ran a College Tennis Exposure Camp in Lakeland, Fla., in December, with the proper precautions in place. That was like a test run for our summer camp season,” Krass said. “I’m looking forward to getting back on-court with the students. This camp is an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their skills, learn the college game, and receive specific feedback from college coaches representing every level of college tennis,” said Coach Ed Krass.
