Ruth Abraham and Alex Ho won at first doubles to clinch Syosset's victory over Roslyn on Wednesday.

The Syosset Braves moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 6-1 victory over Roslyn on Wednesday afternoon.

The defending Nassau County champions got wins from Caroline Lee and Sarah Wong at first and second singles, respectively, as both players were able to secure victories in three sets.

The clinching match came on the first doubles court as the sophomore-senior duo of Alex Ho and Ruth Abraham hung on to beat Roslyn’s Sophia Remnek and Sara Lok.

“Having won the first set, we started off on the right foot, but the second set we weren’t playing great,” said Abraham. “We were both struggling to gain momentum, but we didn’t get down on ourselves. And the third set, we gave it our all and played really well.”

After dropping the second set, Abraham and Ho stepped up their play in the third set to complete the 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 win.

“We’re both really aggressive,” added Ho. “And we love to go after the girl at the net and we feed off of each other’s energy.”
