In a showdown between last year’s Suffolk County Large School Champions and Suffolk County Small School Champions, it was the small school who got the better of the large school on Tuesday afternoon.

The Phantoms of Bayport-Blue Point, the county small school title winners in 2021, defeated Hills East 5-2 in a non-league match on Tuesday. At fourth singles, Danielle Oleksiak won 6-4, 6-4, while the third doubles pairing of Ava Duras & Leah Richardt won 6-3, 7-5 to help seal the win for Bayport-Blue Point as the Phantoms remain undefeated.  

In a match that was resumed from Monday afternoon, Manhasset edged Cold Spring Harbor 4-3 in a Nassau County Conference I showdown. At second singles, Andrea Vases held on to win 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 at second singles to clinch the win for Manhasset.

Malverne-East Rockway edged Valley Stream South 4-3 behind the key second doubles victory from Rachel Adeyemi & Gabriela Franco, who won 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
