NYIT’s Dimmer Wins Second Straight ECC Player of the Year Award

New York Institute of Technology’s (NYIT) Lena Dimmer was voted the East Coast Conference (ECC) Player of the Year for the second straight season, as the league announced its all-conference teams and award winners on Thursday.

Dimmer posted a singles record of 13-3 this season, while also going 15-2 in doubles play. She won the ITA East Region Championship back in September which earned her a spot at the ITA Oracle Cup National Championships, where she reached the semifinals in singles, and the doubles final, alongside Alessia Rossetti.

Dimmer and Rossetti were both named All-ECC First Team.

Their teammate, Ivana Andric, was named the conference’s Rookie of the Year. In her first collegiate tennis season Andric has posted a 12-2 record in singles.

NYIT will play LIU Post in the ECC semifinals on Friday.
