American Sam Querrey overcame an 0-3 career record against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino to reach the first ever New York Open finals on Saturday afternoon, coming back from a set down to win 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-3 at NYCB LIVE home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

“It feels good,” said Querrey. “I’m so happy to get through that and get in the final. I’m really excited.”

The second-seeded Querrey notched the key break point for a 4-3 lead in the deciding third set, and after consolidating it with a hold in his ensuing service game, broke one more time to close out the match and clinch his spot in the final.

In all, Querrey hit 21 aces and didn’t lose serve in the final two sets to advance in just under two hours.

Querrey now awaits the winner of the two former U.S. Open finalists who will play in Saturday’s Night Session: top-seed Kevin Anderson and fifth-seed Kei Nishikori.

In the first doubles semifinal of the day, Americans Ryan Harrison and Steve Johnson took on Max Mirnyi and Philipp Oswald.

Johnson and Harrison reached the Memphis Open doubles final last year and were seeking their second ATP title appearance together.

But the second-seeded duo of Mirnyi and Oswald overcame a first set loss to win 4-6, 6-4,10-7 and reach their third final together. They will play the winner of Saturday night’s semifinal where Radu Albot and Nikoloz Basilashvili play Wesley Koolhof and Artem Sitak.
