Roslyn Beats Port Washington To Get Back On Winning Track

Following a defeat to Syosset on Friday which snapped an undefeated season, the Roslyn Bulldogs got back into the win column on Tuesday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over fellow Nassau Conference I foe Port Washington.

Roslyn was led by its doubles teams, who won all four doubles flights to anchor the victory. Arin Siriamonthep and Jacob Buchbinder outlasted the Port Washington pair of Justin Suzzan and Dylan Spilko 7-6(6), 2-6, 6-4 at first doubles to lead the way.

The three other doubles teams won their matches in straight sets. Port Washington picked up its two victories in singles as Gabriele Brancatelli and Luke Zohouri won at first and third singles, respectively.

Syosset improved to 5-0 on the season with a 7-0 win against Great Neck North. Eli Grossman scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Levi Weisser at third singles, while the clinching match came from second doubles.

Zach Chan and Andre Kirkorian sealed the Braves’ victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Jeremy Ahdoot and Kyle Kamali.

Elsewhere in Conference I, Plainview defeated Cold Spring Harbor 5-2 behind its first doubles pair of Nicholas DeChiaro and Sean Cohen. The two outlasted Alex Aronow and Luca Johnson 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to help clinch the win.

Jericho defeated Manhasset 4-3 as it swept all four doubles flights, led by Harrison Edelman and Hunter Lazare’s 6-3, 6-4 victory over Austin Lai and Patrick Weber at first doubles.

Oyster Bay got singles wins from Patrick Maloney, Michael Biggiani and Preston Rosh to defeat Hicksville 5-2. The three singles players for Oyster Bay are now a combined 15-0 so far this season.

The Massapequa Chiefs rattled off its fourth consecutive victory with a 6-1 win over Oceanside on Tuesday. Steven Schulte and Robert Cecala hung on to beat Liam Fager and Alex Utrecht 7-6(3), 2-6, 7-6(3) at second doubles to lead Massapequa.

West Hempstead edged Valley Stream North 4-3 as Theodore Kim knocked off Alex Wong 6-1, 6-1 at first singles.

Wantagh got past Long Beach 4-3 as Matt Pullman and T.J. Cerasi fought back from a 2-4 second-set deficit to beat Prjein Gupta and Noah Gore 6-4, 7-5 at third doubles and lead the Warriors to the win.
