For the second straight year, the Nassau County final will pit Syosset against Roslyn, after each squad won their respective semifinal matches on Tuesday afternoon.

With torrential rain on the horizon, both Syosset and Roslyn tried to make quick work of their opponents. The Braves of Syosset defeated Port Washington 4-0, winning the first four flights to finish up all in straight sets.

Eli Grossman helped lead the way with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Luke Zohouri at third singles.

“I thought I started out a little slow and eventually at the end of the match I felt really well,” said Grossman. “I tried to switch it up, I served and volleyed, tried to attack his backhand and use the wind to my advantage.”

Roslyn defeated Plainview JFK 6-0 behind its doubles teams, who won all four of the doubles flights to lead the Bulldogs back into county final, including the 6-3, 6-4 win from Jacob Buchbinder and Arin Siriamonthep at first doubles.

The Nassau County final is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 17, pending weather.
